Despedidas

Our year here in Guatemala is coming to a close, and this means having to say goodbye to all the amazing people we have been working with and teaching  for the past year. This past week each of the schools threw good-bye parties for us, which was so nice of them! They were full of thank you speeches from community members and teachers, and cute dances and performances from the kids.

 I also taught my final teachers' English classes at both Central and Cooperativa. It was hard to say goodbye; I have so much fun in those classes! The teachers always make jokes and make me laugh!

This year has definitely not been easy, but it has been an amazing experience that I will never forget. I have learned so much about myself and about international development work that I can use in my future endeavors. I will miss the people I have come to know and love. I will miss the amazing and colorful culture of Guatemala, and I will miss my fellow PDs who have been with me through the good times and the bad.
